It has emerged that streaming giants Netflix and Amazon Prime are interested in making a Manchester United fly-on-the-wall docuseries following the success of previous titles.
Amazon Prime's highly-anticipated All or Nothing: Arsenal – an eight-part documentary that gives viewers unprecedented access to players and staff for the 2021/22 season – has received positive reviews by many.
And in years gone by, shows involving Manchester City, Tottenham and Sunderland have raked in millions of viewers.
So what about Manchester United; one of world football's biggest clubs?
The Reds are currently top of the list for producers at Netflix and Amazon Prime, according to The Sun, who claim they are willing to pay millions to make it happen.
A source told the publication: “The story of the rebuild of Manchester United under Erik ten Hag, the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and the campaign to remove the Glazer family from the club is like a Hollywood movie in itself.
"That's why the club has become the new target for both Amazon Prime and Netflix producers and offers have gone in several times.
"Producers have made great play of the fact a programme would be a chance for the directors to show a different side to their role at the club, much like the way Arsenal’s owners did in All or Nothing.
“So far United haven’t given the idea the green light. But the interest remains strong and is unlikely to go away."
Earlier this month, it was reported that Newcastle United could become the next Premier League club to feature in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing documentary series.
The subscription-based streaming service will try and tempt Eddie Howe's side into allowing their cameras to follow them for the 2023/24 campaign, according to The Daily Mail.
If the deal goes ahead, the series will give fans an insight into the new era of the North East club after the Saudi led takeover. It will be available to view in the summer of 2024.
That being said, Amazon Prime will have their work cut out if they are to convince club officials to give them access. It is believed Newcastle have already rejected a number of offers from other production companies.
