Lionel Messi has entered the pitch for Inter Miami in the 53rd minute of their game against Cruz Azul.

The reaction was absolutely thunderous for the 20,000+ inside the DRV PNK Stadium as he made his way onto the field.

He was joined by former Barcelona teammate Sergio Busquets as Miami made a triple substitution, with Josef Martinez also joining them.

Chants of ‘Messi, Messi, Messi’ could be heard across the stadium as those in attendance finally got to witness the moment they had all been waiting for.

The American commentator stated: “We are officially in the Lionel Messi era.”

The World Cup winner was immediately handed the captain’s armband and the Argentine was off to the races.

His first touches for the side proved why he is considered the best in the world, silky, calm, while also effortless, as he strung together a few quick passes with his Miami teammates.

He entered the game as Miami were leading Azul 1-0 thanks to a goal from Robert Taylor.

The crowd grew in anticipation every time the former PSG player touched the ball.

Sports reporter Joe Pompilano reports that the average ticket price went from $25 to $440 when it was announced that Messi would be making his debut.

And finally those paying fans get to see their man.
