Liverpool have reportedly set a minimum price of £42.5 million for Sadio Mane, with Bayern Munich now being accompanied by a further two clubs in the race for the Senegalese international.
After initial reports suggested that Mane would be available for just £25.5 million this summer, The Star are reporting that Liverpool are demanding significantly more than this for the wantaway star.
Rumours emerged in the days leading up to the Champions League final that the winger was looking for a new challenge. Bayern were said to be the frontrunners for his signature, and that due to his contractual situation at Anfield, he’d be available for a cut-price.

Mane has one year remaining at Liverpool, and this sparked these rumours that he’d be on the market for such a reduced figure. However, due to the increasing demand for the player, Jurgen Klopp is now looking for in excess of £40 million.
The other two clubs said to be in the mix for Mane are Ateltico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, both of whom have the financial resources to compete with Bayern.
Wherever he ends up, it appears clear that Mane’s future is away from Merseyside, and he outlined these intentions to everyone after the Champions League final in Paris.
Klopp said prior to the final that he “couldn’t care less” about the links to Bayern, but that the 30-year-old would be a “big player” wherever he ends up next season. However, he struggled to make a substantial impact in this game, as Liverpool missed the chance to win their 7th title in the competition, losing 1-0 to Real Madrid.

Nevertheless, Mane enjoyed a very successful and fruitful spell at Anfield, scoring 120 times in 269 appearances for the club.
The former Southampton man has also won a number of accolades during his time with Liverpool, including the Premier League, the Champions League, both domestic cups and the Premier League golden boot.
The Kopp will be desperate to see him remain in the North West, but that appears unlikely at this time.
