Mauricio Pochettino could potentially have a new job lined up already, with the PSG manager expected to be sacked in the coming days.

Pochettino's time at PSG is quickly coming to an end, with new sporting advisor Jorge Campos, who took over from Leonardo recently, on the verge of getting rid of the former Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Despite winning the Ligue 1 title, Pochettino's inability to get past Real Madrid in the Champions League last 16 is likely to be the reason for his sacking.

Zinedine Zidane has been heavily linked with taking the job, although Nice boss Christophe Galtier remains another possible candidate for the role.

Pochettino might not be out of a job for too long however, with one La Liga job ready to be offered to him, if one person gets into power.

According to the Daily Mail, Athletic Bilbao presidential candidate Ricardo Barkala wants to appoint the Argentine as long as he wins the upcoming election.

Members of the club will have the chance to choose their next president on June 24th, and Barkala is one four candidates for the job.

He is ready to appoint Ramon Planes his new Sporting Director, and Planes has previously worked with Pochettino at both Spurs and Espanyol.

The team need a new manager, after Marcelino left the club at the end of the season, making Pochettino's appointment pretty easy.

It would certainly be a change of pace for the 50-year-old, from a team whose main aim is to win the Champions League, to one not playing in the competition.

Managing the superstars of Paris has never really seemed like the ideal job for the former centre back and having the chance to improve players in Bilbao might suit him more.

The one problem might be that they are limited on who they can sign, with the club having a Basque only policy when it comes to signing players.

Pochettino had previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, but they decided instead to sign Erik ten Hag from Ajax.

There was also previously rumours that Antonio Conte could walk away from Spurs, potentially to go to PSG, and Poch could walk back into his old job.
