Mauricio Pochettino remains in contact with Manchester United defender Luke Shaw amid talk he could take the reins at the club in the summer.
Pochettino has been heavily linked with the job at United on a few different occasions now and continues to be touted as a managerial target.
The Red Devils had been keen on replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Pochettino in November but could not prize him away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Their interest is still present however and the Manchester Evening News have noted that the United squad want Pochettino be their next permanent boss.
And it's claimed Pochettino still regularly speaks with left-back Shaw, who he worked with at Southampton when he was a young player.
The two spent around 16 months together before Pochettino left for Spurs and Shaw himself joined United in a £30 million move that was a world record fee for a teenager at the time.

Shaw rated his time with the Argentine extremely highly and the pair developed a special connection at St Mary's.
In Guillem Balague's book, Brave New World: Inside Pochettino’s Spurs,’ Shaw said it was "only ever up" with Pochettino a and admitted he would love to link up again.
Shaw said: "He (Pochettino) used to call me his son. That’s how good our relationship was. I’ve had lots of ups and downs, but when I was with Pochettino it was only ever up, up, up.

"He made me feel that I was the best. He’d show me clips of my games and say, ‘You could do this better.’ Not in a horrible way.
"Not I could have done better, but I should have done better, because he knows I can be better. I think with Southampton he achieved the impossible.
"We were one of the best footballing teams in the league… I do hope that I can play for him again one day. And I think he really wants me to play under him again.”
Pochettino is reportedly the number one choice for United's players, who like what he brings to the table.

Ralf Rangnick is currently fulfilling that position but is widely expected to move into a consultancy role after the current campaign ends.
