Liverpool have been told the price they must pay to land Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.
Jurgen Klopp is in dire need of midfield rejuvenation after an underwhelming season in Merseyside which has seen the Reds miss out on Champions League qualification for the first time since 2016.
Meanwhile, the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Naby Keita and Arthur Melo has left Klopp scraping the barrel for alternatives.

As a result, the Reds are tipped for a major overhaul to their squad, with the likes of Alexis Mac Allister expected to join the club this summer after a deal was described as '99 per cent done'.
However, the Argentinian isn't the only name on Klopp's shopping list, with French midfielder Kone emerging as a potential target.
Kone asking price revealed
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano tweeted that Kone could be available for €35/40m (£30/34m), with Gladbach "prepared to let him leave for that fee".

Romano added that talks took place between both parties last week, and that Kone is "also on the list" after the Reds complete a deal for Mac Allister.
The 22-year-old is under contract until 2025, and the German club have the option to extend his deal by a further year.
However, German news outlet Bild claim that Monchengladbach are keen to use the money they receive for Kone to help fund transfers for new players, as they look to build on a 10th place finish.
The publication even stated it is “already clear that he will leave”. While Liverpool's new sporting director, Jorg Schmadtke is expected to be fast out of the blocks this summer transfer window.

Nice's Khepren Thuram is another name heavily linked with a move to Anfield, with the Merseyside outfit allegedly "pushing" to sign the 22-year-old midfielder.
