Sadio Mane has been warned that he'll 'ruin the best two years' of his career by leaving Liverpool for Bayern Munich.

That's according to Dean Saunders who can't fathom why the 30-yesar-old would want to leave Jurgen Klopp's team.

He referenced Georginio Wijnaldum and Philippe Coutinho's respective moves away from Liverpool, claiming Mane will 'coast for two years and ruin the best years of his life as a footballer.'

The 57-year-old told talkSPORT: "Why, for the life of me, I still can’t get my head round why you’d want to leave Liverpool right now when you are playing the best football of your career, the best combination front three you’ll ever play in, to play for Bayern Munich.

"And you’ll coast for two years and ruin the best two years of his life as a footballer. Look at Wijnaldum, look at Coutinho."

When presenter Natalie Sawyer weighed in by saying Mane could win trophies with the German giants, Saunders replied: "Yeah but he could do that at Liverpool!

"If he said to you at the end of his career 'have a look at my trophy cabinet', the German league winners' medal with Bayern Munich would be right at the back of the cabinet."

Mane's on the verge of ending his prolific and trophy-laden six-year Liverpool spell.

He's scored 120 goals in all competitions, helping his side to Premier League and Champions League glory.

The Senegal international is on the verge of joining Bayern in a transfer worth £35 million.

He looks set to replace Robert Lewandowski, who's wanted by Barcelona.
