Manchester United will reportedly raid Ajax for Mohammed Kudus despite Erik ten Hag's gentlemen’s agreement with his former side.
The Old Trafford club are exploring the possibility of signing the Ajax midfielder, who can also operate up front, as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to 90min.
The five-time Balon d’Or winner acrimoniously left the club on the eve of the World Cup following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan.

Ten Hag has publicly stated his desire to bring in a forward in the January window and it is being reported that though no official bid has been made for Kudus, talks have taken place behind the scenes.
Ten Hag’s gentlemen’s agreement
The Times claimed last summer that ten Hag had entered a “gentlemen’s agreement” with his former employers, Ajax, that said he would not “gut the team” upon arriving at United.
Of course, later that summer United raided the Amsterdam club to sign centre-back Lisandro Martínez for £50million along with mercurial winger Antony for £85million.
It now appears that the ten Hag is also interested in bringing in Kudus, who has netted ten times in his 21 appearances for Ajax this season.

However, the 22-year-old’s value has sky-rocketed after he produced a string of impressive performances for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar.
In turn, Ajax are demanding more than £35million for the player, who Liverpool are also thought to be interested in.
The Daily Star has claimed that ten Hag, who left Ajax just nine months ago, believes the Dutch giants’ valuation of the player is unrealistic, and that he could decide to look elsewhere in a bid to add more firepower to his side.
Other names that have been tipped to sign for the Old Trafford side are former player Memphis Depay, now with Barcelona, Bayern Munich’s Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and even ex-Arsenal and Chelsea star Olivier Giroud.
