David Ornstein claimed Manchester United will sign a striker on a “long-term” deal in the coming days.
This month Erik ten Hag’s side signed Netherlands forward Wout Weghorst on loan as a short-term striker option, in response to the acrimonious departure of Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, beyond the 30-year-old loanee, the club only have Marcus Rashford and the injury-prone Anthony Martial capable of playing the lone striker role.

United have been linked to several forwards for the summer, including Harry Kane and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen.
Indeed, while they are unlikely to add to the senior team this month, Ornstein has claimed the club have moved to snap up a player for the future.

According to the Athletic’s transfer guru Ornstein, the 16-year-old, who represents Wales’ Under-17 side, allegedly completed a medical over the weekend and is set to join the Old Trafford club.
Biancheri will reportedly sign a scholar contract before putting pen to paper on a long-term professional deal when he turns 17 in September.
While the move does not need to be done before Tuesday’s transfer deadline, United have acted decisively to secure the player’s contract.

The youngster, who also qualifies to represent both England and Italy, was reportedly on the radar of a number of leading clubs.
United still in for Osimhen
According to Calciomercato United are still interested in Osimhen, despite the player's value having raised to around £130million.
The Italian publication reiterates that while the Red Devils want Osimhen “in the Premier League” any move has been postponed until the summer.

The 24-year-old leads the way in the Serie A scoring charts with 13 goals in just 15 games, as his value continues to “skyrocket”.
