Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag hinted that the club may look to sign a new full-back to provide competition for Diogo Dalot.
A gritty victory over West Ham saw ten Hag’s side extend their unbeaten run to eight games in all competitions and rise to eighth place in the Premier League, a point outside the top four.
After the game the Man Utd boss hailed the improvement in right-back Dalot’s performances while in the same breath, suggesting the club should look to sign another full-back as competition.

The Dutchman told Sky Sports: "I'm really happy with the development of Diogo [Dalot].
“His defensive positioning is growing from game to game, his time, also duals, are better from game to game and in possession, I think he's really good.
"He has the breath [cardio] to go up and down [the flank] so the development is really good, but I have to mention, I think a club like Man Utd need two good full-backs because we have a lot of games to cover."

Dalot’s contract runs out at the end of the season, while Man Utd’s backup option, Aaron Was-Bissaka, doesn’t appear to carry favour with ten Hag.
Wan-Bissaka was linked with a return to former side Crystal Palace over the summer and remains poised to move on in the coming windows.
In turn, Man Utd have been linked with a range of full back’s across the continent, including Bayern Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong.

The 21-year-old, who is a product of the Manchester City academy, has scored five goals and provided two assists in his 17 appearances this season.
Frimpong appears highly rated by the Man Utd recruitment staff, with the club having even sent scouts to Germany to monitor the energetic full-back’s progress, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
