Manchester United have reopened talks with Adrien Rabiot over a free transfer from Juventus this summer, it has been claimed.
On Wednesday, the Athletic claimed that Mason Mount is leaning towards a move to United, with talks between the parties expected in due course.
Mount’s future at Chelsea remains uncertain, with the 24-year-old’s contract due to expire at the end of next season, and it appears Erik ten Hag’s side will seek to take advantage of the situation.

According to TalkSPORT, United are preparing to offer £50million for Mount, but the Blues are holding out for a fee closer to £80million.
Given United are prioritising signing a striker in the off-season, the club could turn to Rabiot as a cheaper Mount alternative.

Speaking to Caught Offside the transfer guru said: “There have been contacts as Manchester United are interested again in Adrien Rabiot.
“There is no official bid, and Juventus have also made Rabiot a proposal over a new contract, so the player will decide his future soon.”
Romano added in a Tweet: “Manchester United are still interested in Adrien Rabiot after talks collapsed last summer, appreciated by ten Hag. Nothing advanced yet as there are many clubs in the race [Bayern like him] and timing depends on club sales.
“Juve offered him new deal but still unlikely [he’ll sign it.]”

It was well documented that United were pursuing Rabiot last summer as an alternative to Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
Despite agreeing to a €20million (£17million) fee with Juventus for the France international, the parties could not agree on personal terms.
It was alleged at the time that Rabiot was seeking around £175,000 per week plus bonuses to make the United move, though it has since been claimed such figures had been exaggerated.
