Manchester United full back Williams has been on loan at Norwich all season, and has been one of the few bright spots for the team already relegated from the Premier League.

On Sunday afternoon, it was reported that the Canaries were looking into his social media activity, after he posted a picture on his Instagram story and then quickly deleted it.
The 21-year-old has posted a picture sticking his middle finger up at the camera with the caption saying, "What a beautiful day. Easy up Norwich City," with no context.
Now the full back has explained what happened leading to the post, and confirmed that the club are not looking into the original post.
"Yesterday after leaving the stadium I was taunted and abused by fans surrounding the stadium whilst I was in my car," he said on a new Insta story post.

"After the abuse I was followed by individuals who only stopped following me once they became aware I had noticed them.
"However passionate fans are it is not right that a small minority abuse players or, in this case, follow them.
"Since arriving at Norwich I have played for the club as if I were a permanent member of the team. It is unfortunate that a small number of fans behave like this.

There is no club investigation as incorrectly reported in the media.
"I would like to thank those fans who have sent me messages of support at this unsettling time."
The club did speak to the player about the post on Sunday evening, according to reports, but quickly resolved the issue with him, deciding to take no action.

He has started 23 games in the league for the team this season, establishing himself at left back, as the team have once again been relegated back to the Championship.
Williams hit the headlines recently, when he clashed with Christian Eriksen but decided to hug the Danish midfielder rather than hit him.
It's not known if he has any future at United but he's expected to return in the summer and be at least given the chance to impress new boss Erik ten Hag.
