Manchester United and Liverpool are both takeover targets for Qatar Sports Investment, which owns French club Paris Saint-Germain, according to reports.
At the end of last year, both Liverpool and United owners were exploring the possibility of selling their respective clubs.
Indeed Fenway Sports Group, who have owned Liverpool since a £300million 2010 takeover, are open to a partial or wholesale of the Merseyside club. However, The Liverpool Echo claim the American owners would need to be offered in excess of £3.3billion to consider parting ways with the club outright.

Meanwhile, United owners, The Glazers, have also put their club on the market after a controversial 18-year reign. They too would allegedly be open to the prospect of a partial sale.
There has been much speculation regarding who might buy either side since last year. American venture capitalists, European consortiums and oil-rich states have all been linked.
However, it appears the PSG owners, who have been tipped to invest in a Premier League club, are interested in a stake in either United or Liverpool.
PSG owners keen on United and Liverpool
On Monday Bloomberg reported that United, Tottenham Hotspur, or Liverpool are being targeted by Qatar Sports Investments over a potential acquisition.

The report claimed that Nasser Al-Khelaifi, chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, was considering either a total takeover or a stake in United and Liverpool, while he had held a meeting with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy.
Tottenham have since insisted "there is no truth in reports that a meeting took place regarding the sale of equity in the club".
However, suggestions the Qatar Sports investment may have an interest in Liverpool are plausible considering the Glazer family and FSG have both been exploring the possibility of a new investment or a potential sale.
Neither United nor Qatar Sports Investments immediately responded to Reuters' requests for comment, while Liverpool could not be immediately reached.
