Manchester United and Liverpool rejected the chance to sign Premier League star Leandro Trossard due to the Brighton winger's agent, according to reports.
Trossard joined the Seagulls in the summer of 2019 and has become one of the most successful signings of their current spell in the top flight of English football.
He has scored 25 goals in 116 Premier League appearances at the Amex Stadium. This term, he has found the net on seven occasions in 16 games, making him Brighton's top scorer.

That form has attracted the interest of Tottenham, who are have genuine interest in his services, as per talkSPORT's Alex Crook.
He says that Spurs are monitoring the Belgium international, whose contract expires in the summer of 2024. It is also claimed that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old's situation.
But two other major Premier League clubs have reportedly already considered a move, before electing to turn it down.
Man Utd, Liverpool rejected Trossard move
According to CBS Sports transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, Trossard's agent has been offering the winger to clubs ahead of a potential January move.

In fact, Jacobs claims that no fewer than five clubs were offered Trossard's services - something which is said to have 'irritated' both United and Liverpool.
He told the Last Word On Spurs podcast: "The first thing to say with Trossard is that he wants a move away. No specific preference, and his agent has been working extremely hard to fuel interest.
"He went to Tottenham, he went to Chelsea, he went to Liverpool, he went to Manchester United and he went to Newcastle United.
"Liverpool and Manchester United dismissed it, even, as I understand it, got a little bit irritated by how much on the agent's side was being leaked about interest in his client."

The Belgian international, therefore, will surely be able to rule out a move to Old Trafford or Anfield - but it appears that he could well be joining another club in January.
