Kylian Mbappe sent a message to Jadon Sancho after Manchester United’s Carabao Cup final victory, fuelling rumours the Paris Saint-Germain star could move to Old Trafford.
United beat Newcastle 2-0 at Wembley on Sunday to win the Carabao Cup, the club’s first trophy of any kind in six years.
Casemiro nodded in United’s opener in the first half, before Marcus Rashford’s way-ward shot was deflected in by Newcastle defender Sven Botman.

It was the Old Trafford club’s first trophy since 2017 when Jose Mourinho led the Reds to Europa League glory.
And given Erik ten Hag’s men are still in the FA Cup, Europa League, and have an outside chance of winning the Premier League, it could be the first trophy of many for United this term.

The England winger posted a picture of him and Rashford in the United dressing room, posing with the trophy, to which Mbappe replied: “Good to see you with the smile”.
The Frenchman’s message of support came after Sancho missed months of football with fitness issues.
The winger only returned to action for United at the end of January, while he featured as a substitute in Sunday’s Wembley final.

Naturally, Mbappe’s comment also sparked talk that the PSG star could make an unlikely switch to United in future.
Indeed, last week Football Insider claimed United could launch a sensational swoop for Mbappe, should the club be taken over by new owners.
The club’s recruitment chiefs are allegedly laying the groundwork for their summer business, with new owners likely to want a marquee signing to come in.
In turn, Mbappe, who has scored 17 goals in 21 Ligue 1 appearances this term, has been linked to a move to Old Trafford.
