Tottenham are adamant that they will not sell Harry Kane to a rival this summer, potentially ruling Manchester United out of the race for his signature.
The England skipper reached a new milestone on the weekend, scoring his 200th Premier League goal to become Spurs' all-time leading goalscorer in their 1-0 win over Manchester City. He is now only 60 short of Alan Shearer's record.
But he has been rumoured with a move away from north London this summer, with the 29-year-old being heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Kane previously pushed for a transfer to Manchester City in 2021, but Daniel Levy blocked any potential move, keeping his prized asset at the club.
Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag is thought to be in the market for a striker this summer, with the Dutchman seeking a permanent replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo - and Kane's name has been put forward.
Man Utd haunted by Berbatov
In addition to Tottenham's reluctancy to sell, United are reportedly wary of entering into negotiations, having had 'bad memories of dealing with north London club from when they signed Dimitar Berbatov', claim The Times.

Berbatov joined United in a £30million deal from White Hart Lane in 2008, after Spurs had accepted a shock bid from Manchester City earlier in the day.
The Bulgarian went on to win the league in his first season at Old Trafford, scoring 14 goals in 43 appearances.
With Tottenham eager not to repeat their mistakes, Daniel Levy has made it clear that he would only sell to an overseas buyer, with Bayern Munich and Real Madrid thought to be interested.
However, such a move would affect his pursuit of Shearer’s record. Speaking after the game against Manchester City, Kane discussed his desire to break the record.

He said: "It’s always there in the back of my mind but I just take it game by game, season by season.
"It’s definitely there to be broken and I’m feeling good and feeling fit so we’ll see what happens."
The Red Devils have also been rumoured with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The 24-year-old is top scorer in Serie A with 16 goals. Whilst Ten Hag is thought favour signing the Nigerian over Kane.
