Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag will only give opportunities to world-class youth prospects at Old Trafford, it has been reported.
The Dutchman allowed a number of youngsters to train with the first team last season, but only Alejandro Garnacho received regular chances in the starting XI.
Kobbie Mainoo and Facundo Pellistri were among the other starlets to feature in cup and continental competitions, with a number of talents sent out on loan by Ten Hag.

There were notable successes, including the performances of left wing-back Alvaro Fernandez at Preston North End and Amad Diallo at Sunderland.
Both players are reportedly expected to be assessed by Ten Hag in pre-season ahead of possible first-team opportunities of their own. Whether it is decided that Fernandez needs another year on loan to further develop his defensive attributes, however, is unclear.
But there has been a notable departure from the club on a permanent basis. On Tuesday, it was reported by The Athletic's David Ornstein that United had accepted an offer of €1 million from Dutch side FC Utrecht to sell midfielder Zidane Iqbal.

The 20-year-old made his Champions League debut for United in 2021, and trained with the first team under Ten Hag this season.
His departure, especially for a low sum, took United fans by surprise - but Ten Hag's reported general stance on younger players may explain why the decision was taken.
Ten Hag's youth player admission
According to Manchester Evening News writer Rich Fay, Ten Hag plays 'an active role' in deciding which of United's U21 stars train with the first team - meaning he knows just how good each player is.

The report adds that the sale of Iqbal is a reminder of the 'extremely high standards set by Ten Hag', with youth players needing to be at a world-class level for their age in order to receive an opportunity from the Dutch manager.
Garnacho is one of the wonderkids set to benefit from Ten Hag's coaching for years to come, having signed a new long-term contract with the club earlier this year.
Speaking after the deal was signed, Ten Hag's comments spoke volumes: "I think he has the prize [contract], and it's a prize. He also shows he can make the next step, not only in talent but also he made it.
"Now, it's a new start, a restart, because now expectations will be higher, the demands will definitely be higher. He is on his way, he is a strong character, and that's why he's there in the moment on this level. He did it by himself."
