Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jamie Bynoe-Gittens gave a shout out to Marcus Rashford after copying the Manchester United star’s goal celebration.

The England youngster scored one minute and nine seconds after coming off the bench for Dortmund to help Die Borussen to a 2-0 win away to Werder Bremen.

After exchanging passes with Nico Schlotterbeck, the 18-year-old blasted an unstoppable strike off his weaker left foot inside the keeper’s near post.

While wheeling away in celebration Bynoe-Gittens put his finger to his temple, copying a celebration Rashford has adopted in his potent run of Premier League form.

The teenager’s goal helped Dortmund to their fifth consecutive Bundesliga victory.

Bynoe-Gittens explains celebration

When asked by ESPN about the celebration post-match Bynoe-Gittens explained that it was a shoutout to Rashford.

The youngster said: “I’ve seen Rashford do it a lot of times this season, so yeah, shout out to Rashford today.”

The “shoutout” may come as a surprise given Bynoe-Gittens’ history playing for the Manchester City academy.

Better than Sancho?

Christian Falk told CaughtOffside that some of the Dortmund hierarchy rate Bynoe-Gittens’ potential as better than Jadon Sancho, despite the latter having scored 50 goals and provided a further 64 assists in his 137 appearances for the club.

The journalist said: “I was asked last week about any big young talents who will become interesting options on the market in future.

“I think Jamie Bynoe-Gittens could be the next big thing in Germany, and England, of course, as he’s English.

“He scored at the weekend. He’s now back from injury and performing to a high standard.

“I heard that the scouting system is very special in Dortmund; they’re keeping a close eye on the youngster and believe that his potential could be bigger than Jadon Sancho’s.”
