Manchester United defender Brandon Williams passionately defended captain and friend Harry Maguire in a recent interview.
Maguire has found himself out of the United team since a 4-0 defeat to Brentford last month, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane the preferred centre back duo of manager Erik ten Hag.

United have won five of their last six games and the England international has a huge task on his hands getting back into the starting XI.
Williams was asked how his teammate is coping in a recent interview with The Sportsman and he didn't hold back.
The full-back, who spent last season on loan with Norwich City, declared: "People don’t listen to the outside world. Harry [Maguire] will go into training a hundred per cent every day. Harry will give, whether he’s starting the game, whether he’s not starting the game, one hundred per cent.

"We don't care about the outside world because like I said, the only thing that matters is the opinions on the inside. The opinions on the inside mean the most important.
"If you’re doing well in training, who’s some little idiot sat on Twitter that’s going to tell you that you shouldn’t be starting a game. Who is he? I don't get it. I genuinely don’t get it. Harry is a top fella, top captain, top player."
Williams went on to claim he dreams of captaining United in the way Maguire has done so for the last two-and-a-half years.

The 22-year-old continued: "He'll have a great career, he’s already had a great career. He’s on stepping stones and he’ll get to the top where he wants to be.
"He’s already at the top. He’s captain of Man United. I dream to be that one day and he’s already done it."
Maguire knows he needs to be playing regularly to stand any chance of starting for England at the World Cup in two month's time.

Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate selected Maguire for this month's UEFA Nations League games with Italy and Germany, but will be wary of his lack of game time.
Maguire joined United from Leicester City for £80 million in 2019, a world record fee for a defender.
He was named captain in 2020 following Ashley Young's departure for Inter Milan and Maguire has made 149 appearances for the club.
