Casemiro reminded everyone that he is still the best defensive midfielder in the world after he produced a stunning display against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Although there were many good individual displays, Casemiro stood out in particular as he produced a commanding, man-of-the-match performance in midfield.

The 30-year-old also had two shots on goal, created three chances and made 28 final third passes. It was a vintage performance from the former Real Madrid man.
What was said about his performance:
Unsurprisingly, many people were praising Casemiro. The Times’ chief football writer, Henry Winter tweeted: “Casemiro senses danger from far off. He reads, intercepts, releases. He's the calm controller, organising, inspiring. He's only 30, got a good 2-3 years left at elite level. Doesn't rely on pace, relies on experience, intelligence and sensing danger early.”
Former United defender Rio Ferdinand simply wrote: “Love this guy @Casemiro.”

When United signed him in the summer, many rival fans felt it was a waste of money considering his age and questioned whether Casemiro can adapt to the Premier League.
However, the Brazilian has shown that he has no problem with English football and has proved his doubters wrong.
Casemiro is still the best in the world in his position.
