Manchester United star Brandon Williams has named Juan Mata as the best player he has ever played with, snubbing club legend Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 22-year-old was asked by GOAL to name the best player he has shared a football pitch with.
Williams said: “I’d probably say Juan Mata, because he’s a magician on the ball. He takes control of games in the way he plays. He’s a good guy off the pitch as well - he speaks to us and he helps us.”

The pair played together 27 times during their spell together at Old Trafford.
Williams has never played a competitive match with Ronaldo as he was shipped out on loan to Norwich City prior to the five time Ballon d’Or winner’s stunning return to United last season.
This season, under Erik ten Hag, Williams has so far failed to impress the Dutchman, as a result he has not be named in a match day squad.

Overall, Williams has made less than 50 appearances since breaking into the first team back in 2019, scoring once and assisting three.
Spanish midfielder Mata left Old Trafford in June at the end of his contract.
During his time as a Red Devil, Mata made a total of 285 appearances, scoring 51 goals and has 47 assists to his name.

After his departure, he wrote an emotional message to United fans.
He wrote: “It has taken me some time to process the change that is happening in my life.
“I would like to say I am the proudest man in the world having represented this unique club for the last eight-and-a-half seasons.
“I couldn't be more grateful with what my career has brought to me, so far, and I am as excited as that little kid about what the future might bring from now on.”

Mata has now signed for Turkish Super Lig club Galatasary on a one year deal, with the option of a further year.
