Manchester United will play Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday, with the first silverware of the season up for grabs.
It will be a shot for United to get their hands on silverware for the first time since 2017, and for Newcastle to win a major trophy for the first time since 1955.
But even before a ball has been kicked, United fans have started debating online about whether Harry Maguire or Bruno Fernandes should be lifting the trophy if they win.

The UtdPlug on Twitter shared a powerful quote from Manchester United captain Harry Maguire about the upcoming final, where he said:
“It's a huge honour for a captain of this football club. A real privilege. Ever since I've been made captain it's been a dream to lift my first trophy for this football club.”
The majority of fans replies argued that Fernandes should be lifting the trophy, as Maguire has largely not been part of the starting XI for United this season, making cameos off the bench and starting in games where the team is rotated.

Fernandes has been the captain for the majority of United's games in Maguire's absence, where he has also managed to display several leadership traits and qualities that have gained the affection of fans.
One fan said: "Bruno is our captain and he should lift the trophy if we win."
Another claimed: "Bruno is our recognized captain. He really works hard for the team and deserves to lift the trophy more."
One fan brutally stated: "You’re not fit to wear the shirt."

There were a couple of fans in support of Maguire, with one saying: "I have no problem with this tbh. I expect both captains will lift since Bruno has been captain and Maguire has been the club captain. That’s how it always goes man with football teams"
Bruno Fernandes has found his best form for United this season, playing a more influential role in the team despite not living up to the numbers he put up in the 19/20 and 20/21 seasons.
With seven goals and ten assists in all competitions, Fernandes has been a huge part of United's and Erik ten Hag's success so far this season.
Maguire has only made 19 club appearances this season, with nine off the bench, where Fernandes has made 37 appearances.
