The reasons behind Erling Haaland’s decision to join Manchester City instead of Real Madrid have been revealed.
When it became apparent that Norway superstar Haaland was going to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, a host of clubs around the continent were bidding to lure the striker to their club.
After weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that Haaland had signed with City, a club that his dad played for.

Now, Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimienta has outlined the reasons behind his client’s move to the Etihad stadium instead of signing for Spanish La Liga giants Madrid.
Pimienta told Diario AS: “He came from a football family you know. His dad, he already played you know, so he grew up around that and you see the photos of him as an infant with the shirt of Manchester City.
“So I think it was a personal thing, and then I think he also wanted to experience the Premier League too.”

Pimienta took over from the late Mino Raiola as the head of their agency and is now in charge of some of the biggest stars in the world of football.
Since the turn of the year, a lot has been said about Haaland’s form but he quickly reminded everyone what he is capable of with a hat trick against Wolves.
After that match, Pep Guardiola said Haaland is undroppable. He said: “When he scores I don’t know how many hat-tricks and goals, (people say) he is the solution in our team and when he does not score a goal he is a problem in our team. This is a grey vision of this kind of things.

“We know his quality, we know each other. He is not a player to be dropped. We cannot play a false nine with him, we have to adapt with him and I think we are doing quite well.”
City are back in Premier League action this weekend as they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon.
