Manchester City have entered the race to sign Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister, according to widespread reports.
On Saturday City wrapped up their third Premier League title in succession and their fifth in the past six years, after Arsenal fell to a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Indeed, Pep Guardiola’s men are also on the brink of historic treble, with an FA Cup and Champions League final still to play in the coming weeks.

While currently the juggernaut of European football, City are still looking to make additions to their star-studded squad in the summer.
Indeed, with Bernardo Silva and İlkay Gündoğan’s tipped for a summer move and Kalvin Phillips’ future uncertain, the midfield will be a position of concern for Guardiola moving forward.
And according to the Mirror the Cityzens have entered the race to sign Brighton’s Mac Allister.
Mac Allister to City?

Indeed, at the weekend TyC Sports journalist Gaston Edul claimed the World Cup winner is set to join Liverpool this summer after months of negotiations.
The claim was subsequently corroborated by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who went further to suggest that personal terms were close to being agreed between Mac Allister and the Reds.
However it has now emerged that Guardiola is keen to bring the 24-year-old to the Etihad.
And City may have the edge over Liverpool in securing a deal for the midfielder given Mac Allister is reportedly keen to play Champions League football.

In turn, the Merseyside club would need to persuade the Argentina international on the merits of joining, despite it being likely they will miss out on a top-four spot this term.
Mac Allister allegedly has a clause in his contract that stipulates clubs can bypass negotiations with Brighton if the fee is significant enough, which means Liverpool will need to convince the player that a Merseyside move would be better than a City switch.
Guardiola is also said to be a huge admirer of Brighton's 19-year-old Paraguay sensation, Julio Enciso.
