Malmo FF defender Lasse Nielsen was forced to undergo emergency surgery after he was accidentally 'kicked in the crotch' by a teammate.
The 35-year-old centre-back, who has made over 100 appearances for the most successful club in Sweden, was absent from Henrik Rydström's squad for almost two weeks following the incident.
But the former Gent defender returned to training on Friday ahead of this weekend's league clash against Kalmar FF.

Speaking to the outlet FotbollSkane about the unfortunate incident, Nielsen said: "Maybe it was my own fault. It was not an ugly incident from Hugo. It was pure bad luck."
He added: "The slap itself was as usual when you get a kick in the groin, but this didn't go away. It's not something you're used to. Often you get a ball or a hit, then four or five minutes pass and that's fine."
Nielsen, a defender with one Denmark cap to his name, proceeded to give an update on his situation after going for emergency surgery, describing the pain as "like getting a knife in your stomach."

He said: "Everything is as it should be," he said. "I have two children, but there are no problems. I can have more children. No problem. There are no buts. It just needed time to heal.
"The first week I did nothing. I sat on the sofa, went to the toilet and took water, and then back. It hurt every time you stood up, like getting a knife in your stomach.
"So suddenly I would be very careful. It's hard with two kids. They are used to him lying on the floor and rolling around with them."
Nielsen says he has no plans to use further protection in their Allsvenskan game against Kalmar on Saturday afternoon.

"You can do that but we'll see what kind of solutions we come up with," he added. "Extra tape or something. I don't know what... Maybe it hurts a little to remove.
