Liverpool appear to have agreed a €100m deal for the Benfica number 9, with the Merseyside giants wavering off interest from bitter rivals Manchester United in the race to Nunez’s signature.
Fowler has gone on record saying that on Nunez, it “seems like a sensible plan to replace Mane with him,” with the player also more than “likely to be on less than half the wages Mane was asking for,”.

The 47 year-old former England international has gone on to acknowledge that “OF COURSE it’s a gamble” but “if any manager is going to get it out of him, then it’s Klopp. You’ve seen him do it with Salah and Mane, definitely with Lewandowski at Dortmund.”
Whatever happens next season, everybody will surely have one eye on Nunez’s performances, with fans across the world eager to see if the €100m man will live up to the price tag.
