Liverpool are interested in signing Villarreal star Yeremy Pino, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes

Pino, who scored 6 goals for the La Liga side last season, is a player who operates on the right side of attack and likes to get at his opposing full-back.

For Liverpool, signing a young forward of Pino’s profile would make a lot of sense.

Sooner rather than later, a refresh of Liverpool’s frontline will be required with the likes of Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino now the wrong side of 30.

As such, before the pair’s performance begins to significantly decline, it’d be wise for Liverpool to bring in potential long-term replacement.

This is what they did last season via the signing of Luis Diaz in January.

Liverpool were aware of the fact that Sadio Mané could be on the way out of the club, and thus acted before his exit and recruited a replacement.

As such, 6 months down the line with Mané now departed, Liverpool are safe in the knowledge that they have a proven replacement.

The £67 million-rated Pino could fulfil this sort of role at Liverpool if he were to join the club this summer or next.

He could learn from some of the more senior forward options at Anfield without facing the pressures of initially occupying a consistent starting role.

With addressing midfield problems more of a priority for Liverpool than signing another new attacker, the pursuit of Pino could be postponed for now.

However, if they do move for him Klopp's side could face competition for the 19-year-old with Manchester City, Chelsea, and Arsenal also said to be interested in acquiring the youngster’s services, according to the Liverpool Echo.
