Liverpool could look to sign one of their former targets on a free transfer in the summer window.
On Sunday, Liverpool concluded a topsy-turvy and mainly forgettable season with a 4-4 draw against relegated Southampton.
The chaotic draw was the final chapter in a campaign that has seen the Reds fail to secure Champions League football or claim any silverware.

And Jurgen Klopp admitted that other than in the goalkeeper department, Liverpool will look to add to every position in the squad in the summer transfer window.
"We look in all departments apart from goalkeeper at the moment," said the German. "Yes, if there is a good one (centre-back) out there, I would not deny it. That's all. We look at all areas of the pitch, definitely."
With the Reds likely to undergo a busy summer, one player they could explore a move for is Borussia Dortmund star Raphael Guerreiro.
Raphael Guerreiro to Liverpool?
On Sunday Guerreiro confirmed on Instagram that he had played his last for Borussia Dortmund and would be leaving at the end of the season upon the expiry of his contract.

According to BILD, the defender wants a new challenge and is allegedly attracting interest from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and a host of Premier League clubs.
The 29-year-old would be ideal for Liverpool’s squad, given he is comfortable playing at left-back, left-midfield, and in central-midfield, which would certainly kill multiple birds with one stone.
Furthermore, he has been productive in those positions, having netted some 40 goals and claimed 50 assists from 224 appearances for Dortmund over the past seven seasons.
Liverpool are already thought to have registered an interest in Guerreiro in the past. Lorient vice-president, Alex Hayes, claimed that the Reds made a bid for the then-23-year-old before his move to Germany in 2016.

Meanwhile, the Independent claimed in 2020 that the Reds had again looked to the Portuguese in the summer of 2019, with a deal at the time likely to cost around £17million.
