Liverpool have been dealt yet another transfer blow after it emerged that Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante is desperate to remain in London.
It has been a season to forget for the Reds, who have seen every chance at silverware slip from their grasp.
Meanwhile, their hopes of qualifying for next year's Champions League competition look to have disappeared, leaving Jurgen Klopp longing for the summer transfer window.

Among the names linked with a move to Anfield is Kante, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Following Liverpool's withdrawal from the race to sign Jude Bellingham, Kante would act as a far cheaper alternative and help shore up their fragile midfield.
According to the Kante's entourage, however, the 31-year-old is eager to stay in the capital, putting a serious dent in Liverpool's transfer plans.

Although recent comments suggest the France international may reject their advances due to his 'London habits'.
During an interview with French news outlet Le Parisien, Kante's entourage said: "N’Golo would like to continue his career in London, where he has his habits," it was explained.
"He liked working with Antonio Conte, but he has been sacked by Tottenham."

Arsenal also allegedly made an enquiry into the midfielder's availability, but opted to sign Blues' teammate Jorginho instead.

"Arsenal also made an enquiry," it was said. "I think he will extend his deal at Chelsea before going to the Middle-East in two or three years."
Elsewhere, Liverpool have reportedly drawn up a seven-man shortlist which includes Mason Mount, Connor Gallagher and Youri Tielemans, as Klopp eyes a major overhaul this summer.
