Brighton’s Moises Caicedo has attracted the attention of many potential suitors in recent months, and it seems Liverpool are in pole position to sign the Ecuadorian.
The Reds, among other Premier League giants, were said to be monitoring the 20-year-old’s situation on the south coast over the summer period.
However, Brighton were not interested in selling Caicedo this transfer window given he had only signed for them in January.

The Seagulls were already pretty light on the ground in the engine room too off the back of selling Yves Bissouma to Spurs.
Thus, the club kept their man. But, in Janaury, after the World Cup, it is believed their stance could change.
That’s according to Ecuadorian publication Tera Deportes (via the Daily Express) who also claim that Brighton have 'promised' to give Liverpool priority in the race to sign Caicedo.
It is not yet clear what sort of fee the Seagulls would demand for their star midfielder, but they’ll undoubtedly want to turn a hefty profit on the man they bought for just £4.5 million earlier this year.

And for Liverpool, Caicedo very much fits the bill of midfielder Jürgen Klopp just loves to have in his side.
He is a player who can operate both in a more advanced number 8 role or in a more restricted role sitting at the base of a midfield as a number 6.
Looking at the midfield profiles which have thrived under Klopp at Liverpool, Caicedo very much fits into that category.
And despite only recently adding Brazilian Arthur Melo to the Liverpool ranks to bolster his midfield options, Klopp would be wise to push to sign Caicedo in January.

Klopp needs to think long-term in regards to his engine room. The likes of Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Thiago Alcantara, and Fabinho are all ageing and will leave Liverpool sooner rather than later.
Each and every one of those players will need replacing.
Bringing in the 20-year-old Moises Caicedo alongside a few others would go some way towards giving Liverpool the midfield evolution they require over the next few seasons.
