Liverpool could get a £20million discount on Wolves’ Matheus Nunes this summer, according to a fresh report.
The Reds have endured a tumultuous season. The club are languishing in sixth place, some seven points adrift of the top four, while they are out of this season’s Champions League, having been humbled 6-2 by Real Madrid over two legs at the last-16 stage.
Given several players have their contracts expiring in the summer and with certain members of the squad appearing past their peak, Jurgen Klopp is due to undergo a major rebuilding job in the summer.

While the Reds had reportedly cited Jude Bellingham as their number-one transfer target, the Athletic claimed today the England man is more likely to move to Real Madrid or Manchester City.
Indeed, transfer guru David Ornstein claimed Bellingham’s anticipated fee, the financial power of rival suitors and Liverpool’s reticence about entering a bidding war at the level expected has cast significant doubt on the club’s chances of signing the player.
While news Liverpool could miss out on Bellingham will come as a major blow to Reds fans, the club’s pursuit of Nunes has been given a boost.
Liverpool’s Nunes pursuit
According to Football Insider, Wolves would be forced to slash the price tag for Liverpool target Nunes should they be relegated this season.

Liverpool are on the hunt for midfield reinforcements and Klopp has allegedly highlighted the 24-year-old as a top target.
And the publication has claimed that while Wolves value Nunes at around £50million, if they are relegated to their Championship they may have to lower their asking price to £30-40million.
Wolves sit in 13th place in the Premier League, but the club are just three points clear of the relegation zone, having claimed just one win from their last five games.
Liverpool showed interest in Nunes last summer, but Wolves won the race for the Portugal international, signing him from Sporting Lisbon talent for a club-record £42.2million.
