Benfica have made an inquiry to Liverpool regarding the situation of their Greek Full-back Kostas Tsimikas, according to LFC Transfer Room. However, it has been made clear that Liverpool have no intention to negotiate the sale of their Greek defender with any club.
While at Olympiacos, the defender had successful loan spells to clubs including Willem II, where he started 32 games of 34 matches in the Eredivisie, and where he picked up personal awards such as the Eredivisie Rookie of the Month for March 2018. After returning to Olympiacos, Tsimikas continued to impress eventually getting a move to Liverpool for a fee of £11.75M.
Benfica’s interest in Kostas Tsimikas is unsurprising as in the quarter finals of the Champions League this season, Tsimikas made two assists, helping the reds progress to the semi finals. Tsimikas won Man of the match of that game. The Greek defender also proved pivotal in Liverpool’s FA Cup success, he came off the bench for an injured Andy Robertson and scored the winning penalty in the final's shootout .

Moreover, with many players linked with a move away from Anfield this summer, Jurgen Klopp and LFC desperately want to maintain as many of their key signings as possible. Star players Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah both look to be leaving the club, with Mané on the verge of signing for Bayern Munich, and Salah set to join Barca next summer. It would be risky for the Reds to let any more go.
