Liverpool have been tipped to sign a former Manchester United player and World Cup winner in the January transfer window.
Jurgen Klopp's side have struggled for consistency this season and had suffered back-to-back Premier League defeats to Nottingham Forest and Leeds United prior to Sunday's morale-boosting 2-1 win over Tottenham.
The win against Spurs saw the Reds side rise to eighth place in the table, but they are still some seven points from fourth spot and 15 points behind leaders Arsenal.

The Reds have been plagued by injuries this term and could look to add to their squad in the next transfer window.
According to German outlet BILD, the club are considering a move for former Man Utd and Leicester goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler as Klopp looks to refresh his goalkeeping options.
The 33-year-old currently plies his trade with German second division outfit Hannover, but has a good pedigree.

Zieler has six caps for Germany and was part of their World Cup-winning squad in 2014. However, despite having spent time at Old Trafford, the shot-stopper never played a single minute for Man Utd.
Klopp may need to alter Allison Becker’s back-up options, with second-choice Caoimhin Kelleher likely to seek out first-team opportunities elsewhere if he is unable to replace the Brazilian.
Meanwhile, third-choice 'keeper Adrien is out of contract at the end of the season.
According to the German publication, Zieler is an appealing option for the Merseyside club given his time at Man Utd as a teenager qualifies him as a homegrown player. Furthermore, his contract is due to expire next summer so he would command a low fee in January.

However, Hannover’s sporting director Marcus Mann has played down the speculation, however, claiming: “I haven’t heard anything about it.”
