Mukesh Ambani, who is the world’s eighth richest man, is prepared to “pump millions” into Liverpool if his takeover bid is successful.
Last Monday the Athletic claimed that Liverpool owners, Fenway Sports Group (FSG), had put the club up for sale and that a full sales pitch had been produced for interested parties. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley had also reportedly been retained to assist with the process.
FSG responded with a statement admitting they frequently received interest from "third parties seeking to become shareholders in Liverpool.”

They added: “FSG has said before that under the right terms and conditions we would consider new shareholders if it was in the best interests of Liverpool as a club.”
There have since been a number of parties from the Middle East and the US thought to be interested in investing in Liverpool.

According to a Mirror report Ambani, who has a net worth of around £90billion, has already enquired about the club.

FSG have allegedly been swamped with tentative offers for the club, which is valued at £4billion, and Ambani is one of a number of interested parties to have thrown his hat into the ring.
Ambani is the owner of IPL cricket side Mumbai Indians, and he also helped establish Indian football’s Super League.
Upon completing the purchase of the cricket giants Ambani, who is CEO of Indian conglomerate Reliance Industries Ltd, was labelled the “World’s Richest Sports Team Owner".
“Prepared to pump millions” into Liverpool
The 65-year-old would be “prepared to pump millions” into Liverpool for transfers to entrench Liverpool as one of Europe’s most successful clubs, the report claims.

At present Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side need to punch above their weight to remain competitive with oil-rich clubs such as Manchester City.
Financially they are unable to compete with the likes of Man City, Newcastle and PSG under their current ownership.
In turn, Billionaire businessman Ambani’s reported interest will be music to the ears of many Liverpool fans.
Football is rapidly catching on in India, and Liverpool are one of the best-supported sides in the country.
