Kylian Mbappe's decision to stay in Paris angered a lot of people in Spain, and now Liverpool fans have a reason to be gutted too, after finding out the forward spoke to them about a potential move.
There's not been as much tension about whether a player would stay at his current club or leave since Antoine Griezmann's infamous 'The Decision,' but this time there was far more annoyance.

Mbappe's version of Griezmann's video wasn't quite as dramatic but it certainly had a lot of feedback in Spain, with Real Madrid and even the chief of La Liga mightily displeased that the World Cup winner wasn't moving to the Bernabeu.
However it seems it wasn't such a straight shoot out between the old money of Real and the new money of PSG, with Liverpool also involved in the fight.
The former Monaco man revealed that he'd spoken to Jurgen Klopp's side, and it wasn't even the first time either, as he also did the same five years ago, when he was leaving the principality.
"We [Mbappe and Liverpool] talked a little bit, but not too much. We talked a little bit," the striker told the Telegraph.

"I talked to Liverpool because it’s the favourite club of my mum, my mum loves Liverpool. I don’t know why, you will have to ask her!
"It’s a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It’s a big club."
There's been several links between the Premier League runners up and Mbappe in the past, partially to do with the pair both being sponsored by Nike.

Last year, following the European Super League debacle, a group of Reds' fans even claimed all would be forgiven from the club's owners if they splashed the cash to sign the forward.
Klopp has also spoken about the 23-year-old in the past, saying he would have cost too much, and that's likely to have been true even with his contract expiring in the summer, before the extension signed with PSG this week.
And Mbappe did add that it wasn't really likely that he'd have moved to Merseyside, despite the talks, adding, "Of course, it was between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain in the end."

Real did try and sign the forward last summer, and again in January, offering a huge sums despite him being available for free come the end of the campaign, because they feared he could pick another club or stay in Paris, which they were right about.
And the player confirmed he had wanted to move to Los Blancos at the time but didn't want to leave France for free. "Everybody knows I wanted to leave for Real Madrid last year and I think it was a good choice to leave last year. But now it’s different because I was a free agent.
"I was a free agent and it was important to give back to my country. If I had left I would have left as a great player but there is a sentimental part. I don’t think my chapter is closed. Things were not over for me at PSG."
That certainly suggests that he won't be leaving the French capital in three years time either, when he'd be able to leave for free, so it will likely come before or after, once he's signed another extension.

Perhaps Liverpool will be in a position to sign him then, after all his mum is a big fan!
