Liverpool have confirmed that Sheyi Ojo will leave the club this summer, and the winger has released a touching farewell.
Ojo signed for the reds from MK Dons for around £2m all the way back in 2011. Since then, he has been consistently loaned out in an attempt to aid his development, with Wigan Athletic, Wolves, Fulham, Stade Reims, Cardiff City, and most recently Milwall, all hosting the Englishman for various spells.
After being at the club for just under 11 years (signing as a 15-year-old), Ojo has only managed to amass 13 senior appearances for the Liverpool first team, and 11 of those came in 2015/16, the same season that saw current manager Jurgen Klopp arrive at Anfield.

However, any hope Ojo had of playing a key role in the Klopp era turned out to be false, and he continued to be loaned out in what became standard procedure for the winger. Despite showing promising signs throughout his career, Ojo never fully broke into the first team.
After Liverpool confirmed they won’t be retaining Ojo in their squad, he took to Twitter to write an emotional farewell.
Ojo’s name can be added to a list of wingers at Liverpool that showed serious potential at the club but unfortunately failed to make it. Ben Woodburn is another who can be added to those names, and he will also leave Liverpool on a free this summer.
