Ryhs Williams and Leighton Clarkson have been training together in Marbella, as they look to kick-start their pre-season two weeks early.
With Liverpool acquiring Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay already this summer, any further new recruits at Anfield in this window look unlikely.
There are, however, several players within Jurgen Klopp’s squad who’s futures remain very much uncertain as the new campaign looms.

In the short-term, two of those players are Williams and Clarkson, both of whom finished the 2021/22 season in Liverpool’s under-23s set-up after enduring unsuccessful loan spells.
Both players departed Merseyside last summer, with Williams joining Swansea and Clarkson going to Blackburn.

However, both returned part way through the season due to the limited game time they received at their respective loan clubs.
The former managed just five Championship appearances at the Swans, while the latter managed a mere two at Ewood Park.
To their credit, the Kirby academy graduates managed to put aside their disappointments in men’s football.
They finished their seasons strongly as they beat Burnley in the final of the Lancashire Senior Cup.

Klopp will now assess the pair in the Reds’ upcoming pre-season that commences in a couple of weeks, with neither having the opportunity to break into the first team next season ruled out.
However, it is more likely that they could both become available on the loan market once again, with the club said to be willing to listen to offers for the duo.

It’ll be encouraging for Liverpool fans to see they have taken the initiative to work on their fitness together during a post-season vacation in Marbella.
In an Instagram post from Williams, the 21-year-old centre-back shared a number of photos of him alongside team-mate Clarkson, with the caption “running in this heat”.
While every player at Liverpool would’ve been given individual training programmes to keep themselves fit in the off-season, it appears Williams and Clarkson are keen to go further and put themselves in contention come the start of pre-season.
