Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has posted a classy message on social media after he was left out of Brazil’s 26-man squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
Brazil manager Tite named his squad on Monday afternoon and to many people’s surprise, Firmino’s name was nowhere to be seen despite his fine start to the season.
In 12 Premier League games this season, Firmino has found the back of the net on six occasions whilst providing three assists. Which is more than the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, Antony and Richarlison, who were all selected ahead of the Liverpool man.

However, despite his World Cup heartbreak, Firmino took to social media to send out a message to his fans.
He wrote: “Passing by to say thank you for all the lovely messages. The World Cup is a dream for every player and with me, it wouldn't be any different.
“Yesterday, things didn't go the way I imagined or dreamed for my life, but I can look back and have a grateful heart to God that he has already allowed me to live that dream as well as so many others.

“(Isaiah 26:3) I take this opportunity here to pay my respect and congratulate all the summoned. It was, is, and will always be an honour to defend my country, especially with the gift the Lord gave me. I stay here confident that God has the best for me and hoping that hexa comes.
“For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) #Jesusisenough.”
As a result of his exclusion, Firmino is now likely to be part of the Liverpool team that will travel to Dubai for a mid-season training camp. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Andy Robertson and Luis Diaz will also be in attendance as their respective countries all failed to qualify for the tournament in Qatar.

Brazil are the bookies’ favourite to lift the World Cup as they look to win the trophy for a record-extending sixth time.
Tite’s side are in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland and Cameroon.
