Robbie Fowler has stated the claims that Liverpool are on the rapid decline are ‘insane’, despite their shaky start to the season.

Liverpool currently sit 7th in the table, having only won 2 of their opening 6 league games and already trail league leaders Arsenal by 6 points.

Klopp’s side haven’t been able to maintain the sky-high standards they set themselves last season and have come under heaps of criticism for their performances thus far.

Speaking to the Mirror, Fowler had this to say about Liverpool’s start to the new campaign:

“In the insane parallel universe of social media it’s ‘obviously’ down to the end of an era, the disintegration of the Klopp empire, the collapse of his team as a force, or whatever,”

“In real life, IT DOESN’T HAPPEN IN SEVEN GAMES. I thought I’d cap that up for the hard of thinking.”

“Nine games ago, Liverpool were on the verge of a historic quadruple and the undisputed title of the greatest team of all time.”

“Now, seven games into a new season they’re finished as a force? It doesn’t happen like that. Great teams do decline, but it’s over years, not days.”

Since Jurgen Klopp joined the club in 2015, the Reds have managed to win every trophy possible and will go down as one of the most successful teams in Premier League history.

Liverpool have brought in a number of new faces over the past year and despite the obvious quality of players such as Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, many believe that the team is struggling to gel like it used to.

The Reds will be hoping to turn their form around when they face Ajax on Tuesday night, having lost their opening Champions League fixture 4-1 away at Napoli.
