Bayern Munich are set to announce the signing of Sadio Mane imminently. The Senegalese forward has enjoyed six fruitful years at Liverpool, but will swap Anfield for the Allianz in an initial £27m fee rising to £35m.
His time under Jurgen Klopp has wielded six different trophies, but it is widely believed that Mane wanted a new challenge before entering the final phases of his career.
Bayern are prepared to lose their star forward Robert Lewandowski who has longed for a Barcelona move, and Mane will come in as a direct replacement.

Another player who is set to leave Liverpool, Loris Karius, has had his say on the Mane transfer, believing it is a good step for the Bundesliga and Bayern as a club.
“It would be a crazy transfer for Bayern because he’s one of the top players at Liverpool,” says Karius, the former Mainz and Union Berlin ‘keeper.

“If Bayern Munich manages to sign someone like him, then you can only congratulate them and the Bundesliga too.
'It would be another star in the league, so I would be very happy for the Bundesliga.
“Sadio Mane is very reserved, very down to earth. He also speaks a bit of German from his time in Salzburg.
"I’ve always got along very well with him. Should he come to Germany, he won’t have any problems adapting.”

Mane spent two years at RB Salzburg after an original spell with Metz in France, before moving to Southampton where Premier League fans first caught a glimpse of him.
He joined Liverpool in 2016 in Jurgen Klopp’s first full summer at Anfield, being widely regarded as the catalyst for change from mediocrity to title challengers, and eventually winners.

Mane has always been consistent and available for the Reds across multiple competitions.
He made 269 appearances in the six seasons he spent on Merseyside, scoring 120 goals including 90 in the Premier League.
He will be sorely missed, but with the new era of Darwin Nunez dawning, Liverpool are in safe hands.
