Liverpool defender Neco Williams is the latest Red to have his international exploits ended early this summer
The Welsh international missed his country’s topsy turvy 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands on Tuesday due to an injury that is still unspecified.
Thus far, the defender had enjoyed a season full of success. He has been on loan for Fulham this campaign, and helped the London club emphatically win the Championship, with the team scoring a remarkable 102 goals in the process.

Alongside this, Williams recently played a key part in the Wales squad who qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 64 years.
Williams was a prominent figure in both successes this calendar year, amassing 208 minutes for his country and 1,309 for Fulham in 2022.
Newly promoted clubs Fulham and Forest will hope this injury is only a minor setback for the Welshman as they are serious admirers of the defender and both are hoping to prise him away from Anfield this summer on a permanent deal.

Williams is the latest player from Merseyside to get injured over the last few weeks, following in the footsteps of Diogo Jota, Mohammad Salah and Andy Robertson who have all been sidelined in the post-season.

Considering how insanely long this season has been, with fixture congestion common throughout, it is no surprise that Premier League sides have seen players dropping like flys in the recent international break.
After getting to the final of all 3 competitions they were in, and playing 63 games this season (the highest possible number they could have), Liverpool players are now feeling the effects.
