Bellingham's contract is set to run out in 2025 and Liverpool are allegedly frontrunners for his signature. However, United are also said to be in the running.
The Athletic claim that United could make a move for Bellingham if the club is sold before the summer window.
"Not so long ago, United would have been viewed as outsiders for Bellingham but things are changing in the red half of Manchester," the report read.
"If a sale happens in the coming weeks, don't rule out United being the team to have the money to do this deal.
