Liverpool fans are excited about Joe Gomez going into the new season after seeing a video of him destroying opponents in training.
The England defender's progress has been stunted by rotten luck with serious knee injuries in recent years, the latest of which happened on England duty in September 2020.
He missed out on Euro 2020 and then struggled to work his way back into the Liverpool side thanks to the form of Joel Matip and the imperious performances from new signing Ibrahim Konate.

Gomez played just eight times in the Premier League last term and has been heavily linked with a move to Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa.
But there's optimism for the Charlton Athletic youth product from Reds fans after a seriously strong showing in a training drill.
Gomez was up against the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Fabio Carvalho and not one of them could get past him.

He held off Nunez with ease and snuffed out exactly where both Diaz and Carvalho were going with perfect reading of the game.
And Liverpool supporters are hoping Gomez can rediscover his best form going into the 2022/23 campaign:

Gomez formed a fine partnership with Virgil van Dijk in the 2019/20 campaign as Liverpool ended a 30-year wait for a league title under Jurgen Klopp.

And despite speculation regarding his future after he fell down the pecking order, Gomez is adamant he's staying put at Anfield.
“I can understand why people would have thought I’d be considering moving on, for sure, 100%" Gomez told the Liverpool Echo.
“It’s apparent from my age now and based on my opportunities in the past, there was definitely still a decision for me to make.
“I guess you could see it at as a crossroads. But speaking to the club, I knew it was an important decision for me to make. "Fundamentally, the opportunity that I have here and the platform and the chance to be at this club is one that is hard to walk away from.

"Essentially, it was me accepting the fact I have got to take on the challenge.”
