Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has revealed that there are concerns at the club over how the squad has failed to fully recover from last season's gruelling campaign.
Liverpool began the current season with huge optimism after coming close to winning an unprecedented quadruple in the 2021-22 campaign.
Jurgen Klopp's side won both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup but came up just short in the Premier League and Champions League.

They finished one point behind Manchester City in the league after a dramatic final day of the season, and later lost 1-0 to Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
As a result, Liverpool played in every game that was possible for them last season - 63 in total.
It appears to have a major impact on Klopp's side this season, who are struggling to recreate their impressive form from the previous campaign.

The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League, 10 points off the top four, while they have also been knocked out of the FA Cup and Carabao Cup – with the Champions League their last hope of major silverware.
Liverpool have also struggled with injuries, with Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate and Arthur Melo all currently sidelined.
Fowler: All the talk...
Former Liverpool striker Fowler says there are concerns at the club about the effect that last season has had on the squad, with several key players displaying a remarkable drop in form this term.

"They have struggled this season and all the talk coming out from the training ground is that the exploits of last season have taken its toll," Fowler told the Liverpool Echo.
"I can't sit here and argue against that. I think when you are a successful team you've got to keep fighting from any angle anyway.
"Jurgen Klopp is an exceptional manager but you will have tough times. There's always something that will happen at Liverpool. I am not an insider giving out information but I would be amazed if there isn't something happening behind the scenes [for the summer].
"I also think that when Jurgen signed a new contract that would be one of the pre-requisites as part of his contract that he can bring in players at the end of the season.

"Think of what they could have achieved! I know it's all ifs and buts and should haves and could haves. They are having a tough time and the expectancy levels have risen through the roof but I'd be confident of Jurgen turning it around."
