Lionel Messi is so good that he can even play with one boot on, as he proved for Barcelona in El Clasico.
The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner destroyed Real Madrid on many an occasion during his glittering stint with Barcelona, including several instances where he silenced the Santiago Bernabeu.
In December 2017, Messi ran the show as Barcelona won 3-0. Luis Suarez put the Blaugrana 1-0 up before Messi added a second from the penalty spot after Dani Carvajal handled the ball on the goal-line.

The third goal was scored by Aleix Vidal, who sealed the victory in the 93rd minute. But it was all about the work from Messi, who created a ridiculous nine goalscoring opportunities in the game.
The pint-sized Argentine absolutely roasted Real left-back Marcelo down the right flank but as he evaded the challenge, his right Adidas boot slipped off.
It didn't deter Messi whatsoever and he kept running with one boot and a sock before cutting the back for Vidal, whose effort squirmed over the line.

He was then seen celebrating with his teammates with his sock visible.
One fan waxed lyrical, writing: "Messi lost his boot in a challenge with Marcelo in the build up to Aleix Vidal’s strike but still managed to assist Barcelona’s third goal against Real Madrid wearing only one boot. How unreal is he?"
Another said: "This was an awesome memory. I woke up really early to watch it as well. Still funny Messi got an assist without one of his boots on. I miss watching every Barcelona game to see Messi masterclass after masterclass."

A third commented: "Lionel Messi got an assist in El Clasico with only one boot on. God."
This was Messi's 200th assist for Barcelona and showed what a special player he really is. Even if playing in socks, he'd still be the best to ever do it.
