Panama players lined up in droves for an opportunity to take a photo with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi after Argentina’s 2-0 win on Thursday.
Argentina returned to action for the first time since their stunning 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar, which culminated in a penalty shootout win over France in a thrilling final.
Thiago Almada fired the three-time World Cup champions into a second-half lead after pouncing on the rebound of Messi’s free-kick, which hit the left side of the post.
