Laura Woods has made an interesting proposal to Manchester City fans to help Arsenal compete for the Premier League again next season.

The Gunners came up short this term despite leading the race for almost 250 days, with City lifting the trophy on Sunday after their 1-0 win over Chelsea at the Etihad.

The title was the third in a row and fifth in six years for Pep Guardiola's side, and many are fearing the division could become a one-team league amid the dominance of Champions League finalists.

Woods, however, speaking on TalkSport, proposed an interesting offer to ensure that doesn't happen.

Speaking to a City fan that called into the show, Woods asked for one player to help Arsenal challenge again next campaign.

“How about you give us Gundogan and in the same way that you did with Zinchenko and Jesus?" she asked. “Make it a little more interesting and then you might have a run-in next season.”

Arsenal are looking to add to their squad depth in the summer transfer window after manager Mikel Arteta admitted his lack of options and replacements were what cost his side in the run-in.

Zinchenko and Jesus both joined the Gunners from City last year and helped the side tenfold as they progressed from finishing outside the Champions League places to being the closest challengers the the eventual champions.

Gundogan, meanwhile, is out of contract at the Etihad this summer and is yet to sign a new deal or decide on his future despite Guardiola's pleas for him to stay.

It's been reported that Arsenal are interested in signing the 32-year-old, who, as captain, was the man to lift the Premier League trophy at the weekend.

Arsenal are believed to be on the verge of waving goodbye to Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey over the off-season, two players who have been ever-presents this campaign, so will need a midfield reshuffle ahead of next year.
