Trent Alexander-Arnold wowed fans with his first assist in a Real Madrid shirt but he also baffled supporters with what he posted online afterwards.
Having already secured the services of the England international once his Liverpool contract expired on June 30, Real moved to bring Alexander-Arnold in for the Club World Cup and paid £8.4 million to the Premier League winners.
That decision to pay the sum to release Alexander-Arnold early has been justified, with Real reaching the quarter finals and collecting around £27 million in prize money for getting to the stage after a 1-0 win over Juventus.
Twenty-one-year-old Gonzalo Garcia scored the winner, heading home his third goal of the campaign from a peach of a cross delivered by Alexander-Arnold down the right flank.
What did Alexander-Arnold post on Instagram?
It was a special moment for the 26-year-old, who took to Instagram to send a message to Los Blancos fans, writing: "See you in the Quarters! Vamosss."

However, Alexander-Arnold also left fans stunned with what he commented on teammate Dean Huijsen's post from the game.
The Spain international shared his carousel of snaps from the game in Miami but was rinsed by Alexander-Arnold, who commented, "How many pics of ur feet u wanna post?".
The joke garnered 35,000 likes in Huijsen's post and had fans in stitches.

How Spanish media reaction to Alexander-Arnold's display
Though his brilliance brought Real's winning goal at the Hard Rock Stadium, the Spanish media still were still a little harsh on Alexander-Arnold, who has started every game in the Club World Cup so far.

MARCA said he "was weak in defence, inaccurate in attack, and almost always poorly positioned", although they did claim he "has a glove on his foot" when it comes to going forward.
Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo highlighted "errors unbecoming of his level" after stating that the No.12 had "a poor start"
Nonetheless, Xabi Alonso has high hopes for Alexander-Arnold and gave a reason for some of his struggles in the round of 16.
“We were caught out by Yildiz's position in the middle," Alonso explained.

"Everything takes time, but I have faith in him. He's a reliable full-back and so is Carvajal. We will improve from the collective side to the individual and not the other way around.”
Real return to action on Saturday when they play Dortmund on Saturday at the MetLife Stadium in the last eight.
