Real Madrid are preparing a £103m bid for Kylian Mbappe before the transfer window shuts.

The Spanish giants want to secure their man this summer as opposed to waiting until he has signed a new contract at Paris Saint-Germain which could include a higher release clause.

The French superstar initially wanted to leave the Parc des Princes upon the expiry of his contract next summer.

However, PSG are determined to avoid losing him for nothing and even went as far as freezing Mbappe out of this season's squad in the hope he would re-think his decision.

The Ligue 1 champions have insisted on selling the player this summer to the highest bidder if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

Club Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi insisted he wouldn’t change his decision.

“My position is very clear,” he said. “I don’t want to repeat it every time, if Kylian wants to stay, we want him to stay. But he needs to sign a new contract.”

Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal recently made a world record £259m for Mbappe but he refused to entertain the move.

Now Madrid are set to secure their top target a year earlier than expected, as reported by The Mail.

Los Blancos are preparing a £103m bid for the player which could PSG could be persuaded to accept.

The final piece for Madrid

Madrid have already set a marker down this summer by beating many of their European rivals to the signing of English wonderkid Jude Bellingham.

Signing Mbappe would be the perfect replacement for Karim Benzema who made the move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad earlier this summer.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are always one of the favourites to lift the Champions League and signing Mbappe would surely make them top contenders this season.

It’s also the Frenchman’s best chance at lifting the top prize given PSG’s failure to perform in the tournament in recent years.
