Barcelona fans are demanding a player is sold immediately after a dramatic 5-4 win over Benfica in the Champions League.

The Blaugrana were 4-2 down with 13 minutes of normal time remaining before Robert Lewandowski converted a second penalty and Eric Garcia equalised in the 86th minute.

But with virtually the last kick of the game, Raphinha scored the winner for Hansi Flick's side - racing in behind the Barca backline before slotting past Anatoliy Trubin and wheeling away in euphoria.

Benfica players were furious as they felt they should have had a penalty prior to Raphinha's winner after Leandro Barreiro went down in the box.

Barca's last-gasp win means they have secured automatic qualification for the next round of the Champions League, having taken 18 points from a possible 21.

However, plenty of supporters were not all that happy despite the victory - with many asking for one player to be offloaded for his performance.

Wojciech Szczesny, who reversed a retirement decision to sign for Barca in October, started in between the sticks for the Catalan giants and conceded four times.

He produced an almighty error for Benfica's second goal, misjudging the ball and clattering into his own teammate.

He was poised to be the back-up to Inaki Pena following on from Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's injury but has played four times for the club.

However, a number of Barca supporters have grown frustrated with his performances and want him gone.

On X, one fan said: "Please sell Szczesny, what is he doing there? This is the Champions League. wake up."

A second said: "Maybe it’s time to sell my Szczesny stocks cos it’s twice now he’s done this

A third added: "They should sell Szczesny and put me in goal."

A fourth wrote: "It was at this exact moment, Wojciech Szczęsny knew he should have stayed retired."

However, Szczesny did make an important save to deny Angel Di Maria and one fan defended him, writing: "I’m not going to blame Szczesny or anyone at all for yesterday’s performance because everybody was making stupid mistakes. Even the Benfica players. Everyone was really nervous I guess."

Flick also refused to blame his goalkeeper for a shaky outing, telling the media: "What player doesn’t make mistakes? We all make them. We win and lose together. I liked what I saw in the second half."

Barca are back in action on Sunday when they host Valencia at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
